Question of the Week for the 3rd Sunday of Lent: Luke 13:1-9 How can we cultivate and enrich our faith this Lent to become closer to God?
Question for Children: Pick one thing you can do better at home, and one thing you can do better at school, and work on both this week.
Dear Parents, St. John Ogilvie, Priest and Martyr March 10, 2010
It is Fiesta time again! Enclosed you will find the order form for the Fiesta Ticket. Remember all families are required to buy at least one ticket. Families will receive two services hours for each additional ticket that they sell.
The Fiesta will be April 30, May 1, and May 2. All families are required to give a minimum of 6 service hours to the Fiesta. As usual, we are all looking forward to a great time at Fiesta 2010.
Thursday is the Second Grade Raffle.
Friday is the end of the Second Trimester, and it will be Read In Day (all students may wear their PE clothes).
Please view our updated website. On it you will find a link explaining the ITBS Scores along with the Achievement Growth of the current 8th Grade class. Our Achievement Growth continues to be above average! A special thank you to our great staff for this academic performance.
We are also very proud of our 8th grade class for their high school acceptances. Everyone was accepted into the catholic high school of their choosing. Thank you Mrs. Najm for the wonderful work you did with the high school applications and recommendations.
As you can see by the sign outside the church, the Lenten theme for the parish is Forgiveness: The Key to God’s Peace. Forgiveness sounds easy, but we all know how hard it is to do! Here at school, we have been working with the children to forgive each other, even for small things that happen on the yard. Please carry on this discussion with your children at home. What better model of forgiveness do we have than the Sacrament of Reconciliation? Next week Grades Three through Eight will be going to the Sacrament of Reconciliation in preparation for Easter.
Father Albert is on retreat this week; please keep him in your prayers.
With God’s Blessings,
Michael Marasco
Principal
